LASER TATTOO REMOVAL

Laser tattoo removal is an effective method that provides an easy and convenient way to get rid of unwanted tattoos. The laser emits an intense beam of light, and the tattoo ink absorbs the light of the lasers, and this shatters the pigment present in the tattoo ink into tiny particles. The particles are further removed with the help of the body’s immune system.

Before providing the treatment, the skin doctor checks the patient medical history, previous surgeries, ongoing medications, present and past health problems, and the patient’s cosmetic goals. The laser targets the ink, and this treatment does not cause any damage to the healthy cells. The lasers deliver bursts for nanoseconds, reducing the amount of heat delivered to the surrounding skin structures.

Each tattoo is unique and requires a different number of sessions. The number of sessions depending on the tattoo size, location, color, age of the tattoo, type of pigment present in the tattoo session may vary. During the treatment, the target area is numbed to make the treatment comfortable, and eye goggles are provided during treatment. The procedure can last from 5-60 minutes, depending upon the size, type, and color of the tattoo. Different types of lasers are used for treating multiple color tattoos, as the different ink colors respond to a different wavelength of light.

After the treatment, the patient may experience a little bit of swelling and some blistering. It is very much important to follow the aftercare provided by the doctor and must keep the area clean and apply the prescribed medications to ensure early healing. After the treatment, scabbing may occur, and the patient must avoid picking up the scabs as this increases the risk of scarring and infection.

At Dermapoint, we use the most advanced laser technology (the ALMA CLEARLIFT), which is US FDA approved  that can treat small, single-colored to large multicolored tattoos. The laser technology available with us helps remove colors of the amateur and decorative tattoos. The best candidate for laser tattoo removal are candidates with light or dark skin with unwanted tattoos and those who want drastic reduction or partially lighted tattoos so that they can make a new space for re-inking.

Pregnant and breastfeeding women are not an ideal candidate for this treatment.

Other treatment for tattoo removal includes dermabrasion, chemical peels, cryosurgery, and surgical excision.
